Pirate Booty Popcorn Holders {DIY Party Stationery and Decor}

For our super cool pirate's booty holders we used a simple DIY tutorial from Hostess with the Mostess. Instead of using gift wrap we customized the popcorn holders to match the theme of the party and add the birthday girl's name and age. These were fun and easy to make and the kids loved them. Even the adults were talking about how cute and practical they were.

These customizable cones are the perfect addition to any party and the best part is that after the first set of cones are gone you just need to pop a few more cones on the sticks to refill the tray. Convenient and cute! If you would like Cherish Paperie to customize some popcorn cones for your next event contact us today!

You’ll Need:
  • gift wrap, decorative or customized paper
  • lollipop sticks or small wooden dowels (we used small wooden skewers from Smart&Final - meant for corn on the cob)
  • craft styrofoam sheets – approx 1″ thick
  • shallow tray or vase/container (we used a photo box from Michaels)
  • candy/treats for the cones
  • candy/treats to cover the styrofoam
  • tape, glue stick & scissors
Directions

For the Paper Cones:
  1. Download or create a template for the cones. (You can download the one we used here. It makes 5″ cones.)
  2. Trace the cone template onto the paper, then trim out. Repeat as many times as you need.
  3. Roll the trimmed paper into a cone shape, making sure there’s enough of a hole left in the bottom of the cone for the lollipop stick. Secure the cone shape with a piece of tape on the inside, and use the glue stick to make the outer edge lie flat.
For the Party Display:
  1. Cut a piece of the styrofoam sheet to fit securely within your tray or vase/container.
  2. Place the styrofoam in the container, then insert the lollipop sticks into the foam, leaving a few inches in between the sticks to make room for the cones. (You can insert the sticks in neat rows or in a random configuration – whichever you prefer!)
  3. Pour candy or popcorn on top of the styrofoam until it is completely covered (we used Good & Plenty's)
  4. Fill each paper cone with candy, popcorn, or another treat, then slide them onto the lollipop sticks.

Wonderlandia Adult Birthday Party {Featured on Hostess with the Mostess}

As we mentioned before, we were delighted and honored to be asked to create some stationery pieces for a Wonderlandia themed adult party for the Hostess with the Mostess Wonderlandia launch party at the beginning of the month. Today we were featured on Hostess with the Mostess and were able to see the beautiful pictures, taken by the talented Dan Fields Photography, of our table! Below is an overview of the table.

And a few detailed pictures of the stationery we contributed:

I highly suggest visiting Hostess with the Mostess' new blog and checking out all of their wonderful event planning and hosting ideas. A special thanks again to all who contributed to this beautiful tablescape. It was such a pleasure working with each and every one of you!

Hostess with the Mostess Launch Party at San Diego's Hotel Solamar

Let me start off by saying how honored and excited we were to be a part of something so huge. Jenn over at Hostess with the Mostess is one of mine and Adrienne's idols. She's famous to us. A super star. So when we found out that we'd be designing stationery for her new website's launch party in San Diego we started jumping up and down with excitement. Then we found out we would get to work with Carolyn Chen of The Special Day and were even more excited.
And we not only were able to create the stationery for one of the tables featured at the launch party but we were invited to the party as well. As guests we got to sit back and take in the amazing details around us. Jenn and her team really did think of everything. From the beautiful women adorned with gorgeous face paint who greeted us at the top of the elevator on the rooftop of Hotel Solamar. We enjoyed themed beverages, including a White Rabbit, and were excited to find that there would be a candy bar as well featuring The Marshmallow Studio's hatter themed marshmallow designs (I'll be ordering these for my daughter's first birthday for sure!).

After enjoying the wonderful party and chatting with some amazing guests it was time to head out. We were greeted once again by the lovely ladies at the door and were each given a beautiful bag filled with amazing goodies. We didn't find out until after we were home exactly how amazing this goody bag was. The contents in a fashionable KOKO insulated lunch bag  included OPI nail polish, KOKO soft spout water bottle, KOKO Eatools, Evite tumbler, Mabel’s Labels samples, Z Gallery and Shutterfly gift cards, Mighty Leaf tea, Pom juice, Columbia Crest wine bottle opener, Sweet Baking Supply cupcake liners, Wonka chocolate, Tiny Prints stationary pack, Glue Dots and more.

We were truly blown away by the whole experience. What a wonderful way to launch HWTM's new site. We love what you've done, Jenn, and cannot wait to see what you'll do next!
