Monkey Baby Shower {Yorba Linda Party Stationery Designer}

Intertwined Events styled and coordinated this adorable monkey themed baby shower with lots of fun details, all captured by APictureLife Photography. Elegant By Design created the beautiful floral arrangements that paired perfectly with the shower.

Guests enjoyed refreshments that included banana slush punch and homemade monkey bread, but the real yummy joy came from an amazing s’mores dessert bar created and designed by Sweets Indeed. Guests were offered custom flavors such as “Chunky Monkey”, “The Loaded Diaper”, and “Up All Night”.

Cherish Paperie designed the lovely paper goods for the event, including a cute postcard for each friend to write a loving message. The mom-to-be will receive one card a month for the first year of the baby’s life. So sweet!

Butterfly Baby Shower {Huntington Beach Stationery Designer}

Adrienne attended a surprise bridal shower this weekend that was beyond adorable. The hostess decorated with super cute butterflies and beautiful flower arrangements. The soft and dark pinks and greens were gorgeous against a cream back drop. And we loved the butterfly confetti strewn about. Definitely a great way to use up those extra scraps of paper!

A Seussical Celebration - Dr Seuss Themed Baby Shower {Events and Locations}

A few weeks ago I hosted a baby shower for one of my good friends. Once she found out she was having a boy and shared the news I started thinking themes and Dr. Seuss stood out as an awesome way to celebrate baby #2. Reds, blues and yellows were the perfect boy colors to start with and once I had my theme and colors I started looking for decoration inspiration.

Tessa of Grin & Share It Photography was kind enough to provide the photos in this post. She captured the event perfectly!

Cherish Paperie provided all of the paper goods for the shower decorations. We printed out and framed the menu, which included green egg salad & ham sliders, poodle noodle pasta salad and Cat in the Hat parfaits, as well as the adorable invitation (I will have to find a picture of this and post it!).

We also used various sizes and colors of circle cut outs and placed them around the dessert/beverage table and the food table. We also printed out quote cards where I wrote in various quotes by Dr. Seuss and quotes from his books. They were perfect with the circles to create a uniform yet simple design.

We also printed up a banner sign that I strung up with ribbon to hang over the dessert/beverage table to congratulate the mama-to-be. It drew all of the theme elements together into one cohesive look. Everything turned out so wonderfully. I really enjoyed coming up with the different elements to the party.

A Sip & See for Baby {Ideas & Inspiration}

A Sip and See is a great way to show off the new baby to friends and family. Having everyone over to see the baby over a couple of hours instead of having multiple groups of guests over a period of a few weeks can be easier on the new parents as well as the new baby.  It is also a great alternative for mamas who don't like a lot of attention that a shower brings to them since the new baby is the center of attention.

Most Sip and See's are a casual "open house" type shower held after the baby is born. Unlike a typical shower with a full meal, light appetizer-type foods and drinks are offered to guests. They can also be held for visiting relatives and house warming parties. They're basically a great excuse to get together, drink and eat and enjoy each others company.

Custom Baptism Invitations {Ideas & Inspiration}

As you may know from my bio I have a new little girl in my life. She's just shy of 5 months and now that the Easter season has passed we are in full planning mode for her baptism. What you might not know is that I not only work with Cherish Paperie as their Social Media Consultant, I'm also a repeat customer. Starting with planning my own wedding in 2007 I've used Cherish Paperie for everything from invitations to announcements to Christmas cards.

So when I began envisioning my daughter's baptism I quickly turned to Adrienne and Diane for help. Not only did we create the perfect invitation together, I was also able to plan the whole reception decor from the invitation design. That's whats so great about working with Cherish Paperie. They not only create a beautiful product, the team is with you every step of the way as you design your perfect piece of stationery.

Stay tuned for pictures of the reception with great ideas for your next celebration!

The Miracle of Birth {Birth Announcements}

Photo in Photo Courtesy of Grin & Share It Photography

As I get closer to my oldest child's birthday I get all nostalgic. And than I see his birth announcement on the refrigerator and think how in the heck did it go so fast? He was sooo tiny!

I think that a birth announcement is very important these days. It's the way to announce to the world that, after 9 + months, your little miracle is finally here. And after some of the birth stories I've heard from friends and family, that little bundle of joy really is a miracle sometimes!

With the amazing options we have now today there's no lack of creativity when it comes to announcing your child's birth. You can use a simple photo card with stats or go bigger with an accordion card (like my son's birth announcement shown above) or maybe a cute pull out like the one pictured below on the left. Below are a few ideas on how to create that perfect memory in the form of a birth announcement.

The Photograph
I really think that the most important feature, no matter what style of announcement you choose,  should be the picture. Choose a photo that shows your beautiful baby off!

For me, newborn photos were a must for both of my children and are something I cherish alongside the announcements. But if you cannot afford newborn photos from a professional photographer check out these tips on newborn photography from DIY Photography.

The Information
Choosing what to write in an announcement may seem like a no-brainer but sometimes adding a bit more is helpful. When I first found out I was pregnant with my oldest I decided to start a blog and update it with the happenings of our life as a married couple (we had only been married a year) as well as what was going on with the pregnancy. So instead of just including the name, date, time and the height and weight you can share the web address of your blog with your friends and family on the announcement so that they can watch your child grow along with you!

The Style
Choosing what you want your announcement to look like is important to some. You want the "cuteness" factor to match that of your little angel. Some prefer to make the announcement gender specific and really play up the sex of the child. I know that for my daughter I was very excited to use a cute, simple girly design that didn't scream pink. So when I was choosing a photo to use from her newborn session I chose one with reds in it. I than used that picture to help with what style I chose for her announcement.

The Embellishments
Adding a bit more to the announcement once you have created it can make it come together beautifully. Whether you use a rhinestone for sparkle, or a button for charm, you can really dress up an announcement by small additions. Think about using a "stacked" look for your announcement by using different color paper to back up the wording. Including ribbon or a seal to enhance your product will also make it stand out more. But make sure to keep it simple and let the picture and wording stand out. You want your child to be the star!

And remember... if you see something you like and would like to turn it into a birth announcement even if it isn't featured as one just ask! Since we are a custom business we can turn any of our creations into the perfect announcement, card, or invitation that you need.

Baptism and First Communion Invitations {Ideas and Inspiration}

A baptism is a very special moment in a new child's life. It is something to be celebrated and shared with friends and family. What better way to share this celebration than by designing the perfect invitation!

With Easter right around the corner I have started looking into designing an invitation for my daughter's baptism. Many who know me know that I LOVE the little details. When I throw a party I want everything to be perfect and that includes the invitations. I also want to make sure that the colors and embellishments match the decor I plan on using. That way I can tie in the theme of the event. Now a theme doesn't have to be elaborate. It can be as simple as using the same color palate for the decorations and paper goods. And this doesn't mean matchy matchy.

I think the best part about designing my invitation is that I don't have to stick to the standard baptism invitations. I can really use just about any invitation and customize it to fit my occasion. So don't let the names of the invitations stop you if they say "wedding" or "baby". Any of these can be used for other events!

I am thinking of using pinks and silver as the base for my daughter's baptism and love this invitation. The best part is that I can DIY it and add my own personal touch to it. Now, if you aren't that into DIY you can always have Custom Programs print and assemble for you! Then they can ship them to your door ready to be sent out to your guests.

First Communion invitations are also something to start thinking about. If your child is planning on completing their first communion this year than you may want to start thinking about this announcement as well even if you aren't going to have a reception afterward. Acknowledging this joyous event in your child's life will not only make others aware of your child's accomplishments but will also let your child know how special it is to you that they are taking this next step into their relationship with God.
